🎥 Screening Highlights Guests experienced the compelling narratives of Season 1, offering an intimate look into personal recovery journeys. These stories set the stage for an evening of reflection, understanding, and community building.

🍽️ Culinary DelightsGatch's Food & Spirits provided a delightful culinary experience, fostering a warm atmosphere for connections and conversations.

💬 Panel Discussion: "Social Media for Stigma-Busting"A thought-provoking panel discussion followed the screening, exploring the impact of social media in challenging stereotypes. Esteemed panelists included Mike Paddleford from The Recovery YouTube Show "Recover Loud," Gordon Smith, Maine's Director of Opioid Response, and Recovering with Friends hosts and guests, Seth, Sam, and Lauren.

🤝 Local Resources and Engagement Before the screening, guests engaged with local resource tables, accessing valuable information and support for their recovery journey. This showcased the collaborative effort within our community to provide understanding and empathy.

LLRC's First Thanksgiving Meal


On November 22nd LLRC Staff were able to distribute 30 plates full with a hearty portion of Thanksgiving foods.

A deeply appreciative thank you to everyone who played a role in making our first Thanksgiving Meal at LLRC a resounding success. 

Special appreciation to Canton Variety for their generous donations of carrots, drinks, gravy, and cups. Immense gratitude to Marissa Henderson for her culinary expertise in preparing the delicious carrots, stuffing, and both mouthwatering turkeys. Thanks to Lauren Leonard for cr
afting the scrumptious mashed potatoes, and to Monica Hayes for treating us to two delightful desserts — a cherry dump cake and apple crisp.
A big shoutout to PL Stone and Douglas Stone for adding a delicious touch with the Green Bean Casserole. Your contributions and support made this Thanksgiving celebration truly memorable. Thank you!

WMARI 7th Annual Recovery Rally 

On September 17th, 2023 Western Mountains Addiction Recovery Initiative (WMARI) hosted the 7th Annual Recovery Rally at Moore Park in South Paris, ME.

Back to School Haircuts

LLRC provided a space for The River Valley Free Store's free back-to-school haircuts.

Family Fun Day

Western Maine Addiction Recovery Initiative (WMARI) with Oxford County Wellness Collaborative created a series of recovery outings events. 

On August 19th, LLRC hosted the Family Fun Day event at the Mexico Recreation Park, in Mexico, ME.

3rd Annual Golf Scramble

LLRC hosted its annual golf scramble fundraiser at The Bethel Resort & Suites. This year's fundraiser had a full roster of 18 teams totaling 71 players. 
Overall LLRC was able to raise more than $7,000

Disc Golf Tournament 

On June 24th, LLRC hosted a disc golf tournament at Mountain Valley High School. The event had a total of 8 teams totaling 24 people.

LD 1714 Advocacy

LLRC participated in helping get LD 1714 passed at The Maine State House on June 14th.

LD1714 was passed and is on its way to the appropriations committee. LD 1714 guarantees funding to Maine's Recovery Centers from Maine's Taxation on recreational marijuana. 

Memorial Day Parade

On May 29th LLRC participated in the River Valley Memorial Day Parade. The parade started at the beginning of Congress ST, in Rumford
LLRC staff and community members filled the float and had plenty more marching also.

Cribbage Tournament

March 23rd LLRC held a cribbage tournament. The final cribbage game was played on a custom made round Recovering with Friends cribbage board.

Cribbage Tournament winner received 2 tickets to Hank Williams JR. 

GRCC Snow Softball Game

The Greater Rumford Community Center held a winter time Snow Softball Game. LLRC beat out 3 other teams to win the entire double-elimination tournament.

Sober Super Bowl Party

LLRC hosted a sober super bowl party. 2 big screens and plenty of food for all that attended.
